A journalist, author and politician, Solesi is the Media Assistant to the hopeful House of Representatives Member, Princess (Dr) Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji.
He was born to parents from Itundomole and Ogbodo sections of Ikenne Remo, in Ikenne Local Government Area, of Ogun State.
He started his journalism career in 1999, first, as console room assistant with the NTA 2 Channel 5, Victoria Island, Lagos. Thereafter, he joined the print media team at The News Magazine and PM News as unstaff writer under the tutelage of Mr Babafemi Ojudu (now Senator of the Federal. Republic of Nigeria).
He rose to the post of Senior Staff Writer through hardwork, tenacity and wit.
Having garnered sufficient professional lore in his placid course of years in that field, to God’s glory, he, at the moment, runs Royalinks Editors’ Group, a publishing firm he co-founded with coursemates at the College of Journalism, Ogba.
A man with a monk-like simplicity, Bayo had his earliest feel of rough politcal weather during his chilly, overcast days in 1997 when he attempted to represent Isolo Ward in Oshodi/Isolo LG as Councillor under the-then-just-burgeoning Chief Fawehinmi’s NCP.
He has since then been active in Youth Associations in Ikenne LG (as electoral chairman); Ikenne People’s Forum (as secretary); Buhari/Osinbajo Support Group (as coordinator); 2016 APC Party Congress (as IKLG Ward 2 Chairman); IKLG 2019 Committee for the Election of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
He was Secretary of Media and Publicity Committee to Hon. Kunle Sobukanla. He aspired for a seat to represent Ikenne State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, but resigned from the longing by the insistence of party leadership to enable fair zoning principle.
Solesi, a novelist with about a dozen titles, was named a best selling author for one of his works published under the imprint of FeedAread Inc, a division of British Arts Council, – and a platform from where some of his books are distributed.
Apart from Journalism, Bayo has studied Security Operations and Management at Unilag (specialising in cryptology – secret writing); Criminology at Thirhani Institute, Johannesburg; and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration at Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
He was the immediate past Supervisor for Information, Education and Sports in Ikenne Local Government.
