ELEGBEJI ATTENDS 2026 ARMED FORCES CELEBRATION AND REMEMBRANCE DAY IN OGUN STATE

HON. DR. PRINCESS ADESOLA AYOOLA-ELEGBEJI ATTENDS 2026 ARMED FORCES CELEBRATION AND REMEMBRANCE DAY IN OGUN STATE

I was honored to attend the Grand Finale of the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day on Thursday, January 15, 2026. The event held at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, following the gracious invitation of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor of Ogun State.

The ceremony, themed _Valour, Sacrifice, and Unity: Honouring Our Heroes_, featured well coordinated military parades, a solemn wreath laying ceremony, the sounding of the Last Post, and a moment of silence. These activities paid tribute to Nigeria’s fallen and serving heroes, with special remembrance of the end of the Civil War and those currently engaged in security operations across the country.

Governor Abiodun’s commitment to the welfare of veterans and the families of fallen heroes was evident throughout the event. Appreciation was also expressed for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which continues to strengthen troop welfare and national security.

The presence of government officials, traditional rulers, veterans, and citizens reflected a strong sense of unity and shared gratitude. The occasion served as a sobering reminder of the sacrifices that safeguard our peace and a call to collective responsibility in building a stronger Nigeria.

I remain grateful to His Excellency for the invitation and commend Ogun State for consistently honoring our heroes.

May the souls of our departed rest in peace, and may God continue to bless the Nigerian Armed Forces and our great nation.
