She was received by the President of the Club, Chief Abdul Abayomi, alongside members of the executive council and other distinguished members. The engagement provided a platform for in depth discussions on her legislative performance, constituency projects, and priority development agenda.
In her address, Hon. Ayoola-Elegbeji expressed gratitude for the support she received during the by election that ushered her into office in October 2025. She presented a detailed account of her legislative activities within her first six months, covering bills, motions, and constituency interventions.
On lawmaking, she provided updates on major establishment and constitutional amendment bills affecting the constituency. She clarified that the bill seeking the establishment of a Federal University in Remo Federal Constituency was sponsored by her predecessor, late Rt. Hon. Otunba Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga IJAYA, and she is currently providing legislative follow up on the process, which is presently constrained by a national seven year embargo on new federal universities.
She also highlighted the proposed School of Nursing and Allied Sciences at Ode-Lemo/Emuren in Sagamu Local Government, which has passed first reading, and the Federal College of Agricultural Sciences at Orile Oko in Remo North Local Government Area, which has passed second reading at the House.
In addition, she informed the Club of a bill seeking the creation of five additional Local Government Councils within the federal constituency, comprising three from Sagamu Local Government Area and one each from Ikenne and Remo North Local Government Areas, aimed at deepening grassroots governance and accelerating development across the constituency.
She also informed the Club of motions she has sponsored, including one seeking investigation into reported cases of lead poisoning linked to unregulated factories in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area. Another motion advocates the construction of pedestrian bridges at critical accident prone locations: Sagamu Benin Expressway Junction, Remo Secondary School Express Junction, and Delabo Express Junction along the Ilisan Ikenne Ijebu Ode Road.
Addressing infrastructure and constituency development, the lawmaker assured members of her resolve to complete ongoing projects initiated by her predecessor, late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga(IJAYA). These include the Oko Ada Road along High Court Road in Sagamu, completion of the Ibelefun and Ogijo Health Centres, rural electrification at Orile Oko, and the construction of a modern hygienic abattoir in Sagamu.
She further outlined additional projects and interventions planned for implementation during her tenure: construction of a standard road at Ewu Oluwo in Sagamu; procurement and distribution of transformers and solar street lights to communities across Remoland; support for the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Remo Area Command, through refurbishment of facilities and operational vehicles; youth empowerment and skills acquisition programmes in agriculture and ICT in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development; and urgent control of gully erosion in areas such as Araromi, Fakale, and GRA in Sagamu.
Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Ayoola-Elegbeji emphasised the need not only for a comprehensive national policy framework on emergency trauma care, but also for the establishment of well equipped trauma centres along the Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode corridor to address rising accident and emergency cases in the area. She also indicated plans to sponsor legislation addressing the needs of special needs children, including those living with autism and other related developmental conditions, with a focus on structured support, inclusion, and access to quality care.
The issue of the proposed Remo-Ijebu State creation was also discussed, with the lawmaker noting that deliberations are ongoing at the National Assembly regarding constitutional processes, including consultations on the proposed name and location of the capital.
In their contributions, members of The Sagamites Club commended the lawmaker for her proactive approach and developmental focus. They encouraged sustained stakeholder engagement and a performance driven legislative agenda, while pledging continued support.
The meeting concluded with remarks from the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Oladimeji Oresanya, who lauded the lawmaker’s vision and reaffirmed the Club’s readiness to collaborate in advancing sustainable development in Remoland. The closing prayer was offered by Col. Duro Oyebanjo Rtd.
