February 3, 2026, I had the honour of joining fellow indigenes, residents, traditional rulers, community leaders, colleagues, and proud sons and daughters of our beloved Gateway State at the grand Golden Jubilee celebration of Ogun State in Abeokuta.
The atmosphere at this historic event was vibrant and deeply unifying. There was a shared sense of joy, pride, and gratitude as we marked 50 years since the creation of Ogun State on February 3, 1976.
The celebration reflected our collective journey of resilience and steady progress. From infrastructure to education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic growth, Ogun State has continued to rise. Today, our state stands proudly as a ₦17 trillion economy with a clear vision for inclusive development.
It was especially gratifying to celebrate this milestone with His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON. His purposeful leadership continues to drive unity, growth, and sustainable development across all senatorial districts and local governments.
The cultural displays, reflections on our heritage, and optimism for the future made the occasion truly memorable. Ogun State at 50 is proud of its past, confident in its present, and firmly focused on a greater future.
Here is to continued progress and shared prosperity for all and sundry in our great state.
Happy Golden Jubilee to all Ọmọ Ogun.
